Verona, Italy

April 5, 2019

On the way to Venice, we decided to stop through Fair Verona, where Romeo and Juliet takes place. We stopped at a small vineyard to taste some delicious Valpolicella wine. We also found a tiny restaurant serving traditional Veronese cuisine. We ended up choosing a 6 course tasting menu that was my favorite meal on this trip.

The meal featured:

Grilled asparagus with fried egg and breadcrumbs

Salami and pickled vegetables (not pictured)

Handmade ravioli stuffed with cheese and poppy

Beef ragu pasta

Slow cooked beef cheek in wine sauce

Zuppe Inglese (traditional dessert)
